Bloomsburg Defeats Indiana (PA) in Overtime

BLOOMSBURG - Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) scored a hat trick to lead the top-ranked Huskies to a 5-4 win over fifth-ranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania in overtime on Saturday.
The Huskies opened the scoring just 2:05 into the game when Vanartsdalen scored against Indiana's Lydia Dolly. Later in the first half, Vanartsdalen scored, but IUP followed two minutes later with a goal by Sylvia Guerrieri.
Starting off the second half, Indiana's Rosalie Van Gelder scored to tie up the game. Thirteen minutes later, Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored to give the Huskies the lead. Indiana's Guerrieri scored to tie up the game, with Liz Martini following with a goal off a penalty stroke to give them the lead. With one minute left to play, Vanartsdalen completed her hat trick when she scored to take the game into overtime.
Kropa scored the game winning goal half way through overtime off an assist from Vanartsdalen.
In goal, Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley/Lake-Lehman) saved 14 shots for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg (13-0, 9-0 PSAC) will travel to Houghton on Monday for a 4:00 p.m. game.
